Angie’s Story
A Serendipitous Second Chance
A few months ago, I welcomed the beautiful Angie into my home through Bridging the Gap—but her journey to me was one filled with love, loss, and fate.
Angie was originally adopted by a dear friend of mine, but when he became seriously ill, he was devastated to realize he could no longer care for her. Wanting the best for her, he turned to BTG, knowing Angela and her team would provide the support he needed.
I already had Misty, my ten-year-old greyhound whom I adopted eight years ago. Before Angie, another wonderful boy, Ochie, had joined our family thanks to BTG. Angela made sure he was the perfect fit, offering support and guidance every step of the way. Sadly, Ochie passed away from cancer at just eight years old, leaving a huge void in our hearts.
So when Angie needed a new home, it felt like fate. Her previous owner was heartbroken but reassured knowing BTG would help. I initially took her in as a foster, but deep down, I knew she was already home. She and Misty bonded instantly, and her former owner still visits. Angie never forgets him, and the love she has for everyone in her life is endless.
Thanks to Angela and BTG, Angie has a forever home where she is cherished, and our hearts are whole once more.
